This month was a very busy month for Taghhannuck Grange. At our September meeting. Debbie Hanlon/Family Activities collected G-notes and handed out the new Mountain Laurel Pomona 2026-2027 program booklets. She also reported that Community Service had 5648 hours. Our new community service project will be a Roving Clover fundraiser for a new bus to be held at our Grange Hall on Sat. Nov. 7th from 2-4PM. We voted to also give a $1000 donation towards the bus at that time.

The Farm School Committee held the 3rd seasonal workshop with 12 people attending. The theme “Autumn: Harvest & Storage” honored the harvest by making butter and grinding corn. Attendees spoke of using black walnuts as medicine, smoking meats and talked about other things they do.

At our regular meeting Debra Tyler had the program “Autumn”. Her program showed the farm circle starting and ending with sunshine. We also had a booth at the Cornwall Agricultural Fair on Saturday Sept.12th from 10-4, with setup beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. Debbie got raffle prizes from local businesses to bring people into our tent. We again offered “big bubbles” which brings people to our booth. She deserves a big round of applause for doing most of the work for the fair.

On Thursday October 22nd we will have a potluck dinner at the Hall at 6PM
