| OCTOBER 6, 2026 -- Oct. 9 America Celebrates Our Rights
Oct. 23: America Celebrates Halloween and all things spooky We have, sadly, lost another of our Golden Sheaf members. Milton “Red” Banker has gone to live with his forever love, Ellie, in the Great Grange in the Sky; and, although they are will be sadly missed, we feel sure they are both very happy to be reunited.
Our August programs were in charge of members. The ladies took the reins first with a program titled “The Dog Days of Summer”. We learned possible derivations for the saying, enjoyed a sing-a-long of dog songs and proved our knowledge on “Name the Dog” and “trivia“ quizzes. The men displayed their culinary expertise with refreshments.
Our second August meeting, aptly titled “Last Hurrah Before School” had the men enjoying an impromptu baseball game with Robert at bat and “snowball” baseballs flying around the hall. They then took a “paddle” up the center of the hall while Robert tried to catch the elusive big one from the front of the “boat”. While all this was taking place, Dick Tarryk was playing appropriate songs (sung by the ladies) on his accordion. The ladies presented a delicious array of refreshments to top off the evening. And if everyone will remember always to stop when the red lights are blinking on those now-present school buses, next time we will tell you about spectacular September.
