| FEBRUARY 10, 2026 -- Wallingford Grange in the month of December held a collection of over 20 twin size afghans, blankets, and quilts for the Veterans in the VA Connecticut Blind Center in West Haven. Thank you to everyone who donated! These blankets provide a home atmosphere and warmth during the time Veterans are inpatient in West Haven for a 4-6 week training program away from their homes. The brightly colored quilts helps Veterans with low vison more easily find their bedrooms and add color to an often boring hospital room. We look forward to doing this collection again next year, so if you knit, crochet, or sew, please think of this for next year!
In early January, we also had a wonderful community education program featuring Nicholas Imbriglio of Passionately Pasta. Nick shared the history of pasta including about it’s origins since ancient Egypt, how it evolved between both Asia and Europe, and how the many different shapes of pasta were made. He also shared about his love of pasta and provided a demo on how to make your own pasta using flour and water. Thank you, Nicholas, for leading this event!
Some special events Wallingford Grange is looking forward to hosting include a Fly Tying Workshop (February 3rd: 6pm-8pm), Pancake Breakfast (February 14th: 8:30am- 11am), Youth Mason Jar Ice Cream Event (February 17th: 10am- 12pm), History of Cheese Lecture (March 10th: 6pm- 8pm), Pancake Breakfast (March 14th: 8:30am- 11am), Wallingford in Tune Concert (March 28th 12pm-6pm), and History of Wallingford Farms Lecture (April 14h: 6pm-8pm).
